Your Windshield Might Already Be Paid For

Many Lubbock drivers are surprised to learn that their windshield replacement or chip repair is fully covered by their existing auto insurance — and that the process is far simpler than they expected. If you have comprehensive coverage (not just liability), windshield damage from hail, flying debris, gravel, or road hazards is almost always a covered event.

Even better: chip repairs are often covered with zero deductible. Insurance companies know that paying $50–$80 for a chip repair now prevents a $400–$600 full replacement claim later. Many policies in Texas specifically include glass coverage at no additional deductible.

The first thing we do when you call is ask about your insurance. We'll look up your coverage and tell you honestly what's covered and what, if anything, you'll owe. There's no pressure — we just want you to make an informed decision.

Insurance Companies We Work With

We're a preferred provider or are accepted by all major insurance carriers. If your insurer isn't listed here, call us anyway — we work with virtually everyone:

State Farm
USAA
Allstate
Progressive
Geico
Farmers
Liberty Mutual
Nationwide
Travelers
AAA
Safeco
Erie

We also work with regional carriers and any insurer not listed above. The process is the same regardless of your carrier.

How the Insurance Process Works

1

You call us with your insurance info

Have your insurance card handy. We need your carrier, policy number, and your name as it appears on the policy. That's it.

2

We contact your insurer

We call your insurance company on your behalf, open the claim, and confirm coverage and any deductible that applies. You don't have to sit on hold or navigate the insurance company's phone system yourself.

3

We tell you what you owe (usually nothing)

Once we've confirmed coverage, we let you know the total cost and what portion, if any, is your deductible. For chip repairs, this is usually $0. For replacements, the deductible varies by policy — some are $0, others $100–$500.

4

We complete the service

Once you approve, we schedule and complete the repair or replacement. Same-day service is usually available.

5

We bill your insurer directly

You're not a middleman in the payment process. We invoice your insurance company directly, they pay us, and you're done. You only pay any applicable deductible portion, and only at time of service.

Will Filing a Claim Raise My Rates?

This is the most common concern we hear from Lubbock drivers. The answer, in nearly all cases: no. Comprehensive glass claims are generally classified as "not-at-fault" claims by insurers, meaning they don't count against you the way an at-fault accident would.

Windshield damage from hail, flying gravel, or road debris is considered an act of nature or a road hazard — something beyond your control. Most insurance companies do not raise rates for comprehensive glass claims. Some states have legislation specifically prohibiting rate increases for glass claims, and while Texas doesn't have such a law, the industry practice is to not penalize for these types of claims.

When in doubt, ask your insurance agent before filing. But in our experience working with Lubbock drivers, rate increases after windshield claims are extremely rare.

What If I Don't Have Comprehensive Coverage?

Liability-only policies don't cover windshield damage — that's the tradeoff for the lower premium. If you don't have comprehensive, you'll pay out of pocket. The good news: we offer competitive cash prices and will give you an honest quote before we start. We don't inflate prices on cash customers.

If you're currently carrying liability-only and windshield damage is a concern (it should be in West Texas), it's worth talking to your insurance agent about adding comprehensive coverage. In many cases, adding comprehensive to a policy in Texas costs less than $10–$20 per month — and in a place with Lubbock's hail history, it tends to pay for itself quickly.
